Contact Sheet

The first image that I have chosen to use is in the bottom left quadrant of my contact sheet. I have chosen this image because I feel it is a good quality photograph that clearly shows the Fairtrade element whilst also displaying the clothing well. The lighting on the image creates interesting shadows and I feel that the image really stands out as a quality photo.  My second image that I will be using is in the bottom right quadrant. It is good quality and shows the Fairtrade element through the use of the cotton plant. It also has a plain background in order to highlight the key elements of the advert: the clothing and the cotton.

Statement of Intent

For my adverts I intend to follow conventions of already existing billboard posters by using my brand name and slogan over an image of my model. My brand name and slogan both link to Fairtrade which is the foundation of the advertisement. My advert will link to the brief through the media language section of the media theoretical framework by sticking to advert conventions whilst also having the element of Fairtrade as a focal point for my adverts. My plan to incorporate fairtrade is to use cotton plants in order to link the clothing with the raw materials that will be used to make them. Fairtrade cotton has a big market and is a well-known Fairtrade product so this will make it easy to distinguish that my brand is about Fairtrade clothing. The name of my brand is 'Gaia' which is Mother Nature in Greek mythology so links with fairtrade subtly and isn't 'in your face' with fairtrade. Part of my logo is 'Fairtrade Fashion' as well which shows the Fairtrade ele

Pitch

Logo Slogan Font: Big Caslon Medium Mockup practice posters: Pitch: In my advert I intend to use images with a cotton plant in the hands of my model in order to link explicitly to Fairtrade. I will use two different models in two different locations to create diverse adverts that do not look too similar to each other.

Fashion Branding and Marketing

H&M H&M had a campaign "Go green wear blue" to advertise their denim products. A number of adverts for both men and women's clothing were produced with this slogan.  Topshop Topshop do not appear to have clear marketing campaigns. They just advertise their clothes individually and brand with the logo. River Island River Island have an advertising campaign 'Find yourself at River Island' There were a series of adverts produced with this slogan.

Fairtrade Marketing

Fairtrade is about better prices, better working conditions, local sustainability and fair terms of trade for the farmers an workers. Fairtrade requires companies to pay sustainable prices, that may never fall below the market price. The organisation have a vision in which there is a world where all producers can enjoy secure and sustainable livelihoods, fulfil their potential and decide on their future. Fairtrade sets standards and certifies products and ingredients. Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream is another popular Fairtrade brand. They, unlike Cadbury's, advertise this fact in their adverts. Such as the use of Fairtrade vanilla and cocoa. They have likely highlighted this in the advert so that it appeals to socio-economically conscious customers that prefer Fairtrade products.  Fairtrade is a good Unique Selling Point (USP) in advertising of products as not all products are Fairtrade and even ones that are don't necessarily use this is a large point in their

Introduction to Proudction

We create two Diesel adverts in order to create variation in the marketing scheme. This advert will appear in magazines and on social media sites in order to get good coverage. This will be successful as the adverts will be seen by lots of people in different locations.  In the first advert we use the green colour of the bottle as the colour for the text so that there was a connection between the text an image. We also included the slogan for this particular cologne 'Only the Brave Wild' which we include in the corner in a smaller font. We I this in both of the adverts. In the second advert we used a white font for the brand name as the background of the image is green so white contrasts well and is noticeable.  For the typography on the advert we decided on a sans serif font as we felt it went better with product. The Diesel logo is in block capitals so we decided to keep with this theme with the rest of the text on the advert.  Our intended target audience i
